A little bit more about me.....
I am so grateful to be here on Earth at this time. Nothing pleases me more than dreaming, loving, creating, communing with nature and connecting with community. Life is truly my playground to explore and discover. I believe that we live in a magical universe, and magical experiences fill my world. I work daily at peeling away the layers of my domestication so that my true light, my unique essence can radiate more brightly into the world.

My Artwork
I received my BA degree in Art from Pomona College in Claremont, California. Then I received my MFA in fine arts from Cal State University Fullerton in Fullerton, California.
The process of experiencing an art piece unfold is deeply satisfying. For when creating art one can surrender to intuition and just let one's spirit take hold of the paintbrush. It is so freeing. My artwork continues to teach me so much about myself and is an integral part of my processing and healing. Well, they say a picture is worth a thousand words...so here you go!

My Music
Creating music is another activity that I deeply enjoy. Joining together with others in the creative process has been rewarding beyond words. I am one of the founding members of Sugar Mountain Mama Serenade, a folk-based band with rich harmonies and a light and soulful vibe. I have also just recently created a solo album called New Wings. In this album, I let the songs unfold much like that of my art-making process. I play primarily guitar and banjo, but sometimes fiddle with other instruments too. I wanted to create an album that was sweet, peaceful and full of gratitude ~ music that could open up one's day on the right foot or could help calm the mind after a busy day. Here is the first track called Into the Sky.
Otterspace Arts
Fellow Wishing Well member Mary Beth Fletcher and I took a leap of faith together by leaving our jobs as public school teachers to start our own arts enrichment company in 2009. We named our business Otterspsace Arts because we knew that otters play more than any other creature and we wanted there to be no boundaries to our classroom walls. I absolutely LOVE my job! We travel from school to school teaching art to kids. From pre-school children to adults we bring the joy of art-making and creativity into people's lives.
Children's Book- my truth
My paintings seemed to lend themselves naturally to becoming illustrations for a children's book. I created My Truth which is a 35 page children's book with vibrantly colorful images and poetic verse in 2012. The story is about discovering one's unique truth by listening to one's heart.
My Healing practice |
|
I find that the practice of Healing is much like that of art making or music making. In all of these activities, I am the most effective when I turn off my logical mind center and allow grace to come through. Dr. Gene has been an integral part of my evolution as a healer. His guidance and wisdom has been impeccable. I have marveled at how he has masterfully and artfully worked to help me unfold myself, heal, and empower myself. His mentorship is truly the greatest gift that anyone has given me, or perhaps it is the greatest gift that I have given to myself.
